Description: Momiji is the rabbit of the Sohma family. He is a very happy go lucky guy and is quite fond of Tohru. Like a rabbit, Momiji is very sweet and gentle but he also has a very hyper side to him. Momiji is always willing to help a friend or offer a word of advice. Momiji is unique in the fact that he is half German and half Japanese and he can be found using both languages interchangably. Although he seems very young, he is actually just one year younger than Tohru.
Love: Momiji doesn't have much of a love life throughout the largest part of the story. Of course, he does have the mentality of a child for the largest part but with age comes romance or in his case, a broken heart. Momiji develops feelings for Tohru in his grown up years but he never makes them known to her and she picks another Sohma, which Momiji accepts and supports.
Friendship: Momiji cares for Tohru quite a bit. She accepts him and comforts him when even the happy bunny begins to feel down. Tohru is definitely a figure Momiji needed in his life. Momiji and Hatsuharu have a good relationship as well. They are the same age and are schoolmates. Haru stands up for Momiji when he needs it and Momiji helps Haru out when he can. Momiji has a love-hate relationship with Kyo. Momiji annoys Kyo, but it is mostly due to Kyo's poor people skills. This changes over the course of the manga.
Hatori and Momiji have a relatively close relationship. Hatori seemingly acts like a surrogate father figure for Momiji since he can't really have much relationship with his real parents due to his mother's memories of him being erased.
Momiji helps to keep people in line. Despite his childish behavior, he really is an observant guy. He assists Tohru when Hiro steals her notebook by getting Kisa to come along and scold Hiro. He knew it would work, because he can see the connections with people. He is on friendly terms with almost everyone. He's quite a sociable little bunny.
Momiji has a little sister named Momo who looks just like his mother. His father forbids him to have anything to do with Momo for fear that Momiji's mother will remember that she is his mother. This makes Momiji sad because he really wants to get to know his sister. Later in the manga, we find out that Momo is interested in Momiji too!
