Summary: Two girls stand admiring a guy with white and black hair, a long white coat trimmed in fur. He looks like your average punk that is… until he hops on his bicycle and drives off. Switch to Kyo and Yuki, fighting as usual, but this time they are waiting outside the grocery store to help Tohru carry the things home. Later that night, Yuki starts to come down with a fever. Tohru worries and says he should stay home from school since tomorrow is the endurance run. Kyo overhears and thinks in other words, it's a race or better yet, a chance to beat Yuki!
At school the next day, they start on their endurance run. Hanajima falls out rather quickly and Uo never showed up to begin with. Tohru, running alone, notices a man with white hair lying by the riverbank. She thinks an old man has fallen and hurt himself and when she goes to check on him she is greeted by a rather young boy asking if she knew where Sohma house was. He hears Yuki and Kyo coming and sets up a little trap, which is quite successful in getting them to stop running. As it turns out, this is their younger cousin Hatsuharu Sohma. They take their conversation out of the middle of the street and we find out why Haru was looking for Kyo-he wanted to challenge him to a fight!
Kyo refuses the fight against Yuki's warning. Enter, "Black Haru." Apparently, this sweet guy has two sides: white and black. They proceed to fight as Tohru watches and worries and Yuki just watches. It seems as though the fight is going towards Kyo's favor when Yuki suddenly collapses. His fever, plus his weak bronchial tubes and running finally show some problems. Worried about Yuki transforming in a taxi, Haru does the only thing he can think of-Hug Tohru! Meet Hatsuharu, the cow. And so, Yuki gets home by riding on the back of the cow. They call Hatori and Kyo goes back to school while Haru and Tohru stay with Yuki. Haru tells Tohru about how Yuki was his first love and proceeds to tell the story of how he used to hate the rat based only off the story of the rat riding on the cows back but how actually meeting Yuki changed that.
