Summary: Tohru is visiting the library at school and getting books to help her better understand and take care of her new family. Her teacher walks in and tells her that she has a telephone call-it's grandpa. The remodeling is finished and Tohru can now return home. When she tells everyone, Kyo gets noticeably frustrated and Yuki seems more solemn that usual, but neither of them try to stop her from leaving. Tohru leaves instructions on what needs to be done and also her new address if they need anything, and with that, she is gone….
At her grandfathers, things are not as well as they were at Sohma house. Her cousins are unnecessarily rude and things are not at all pleasant. Meanwhile, back at Sohma house, tension is high without Tohru around. Shigure helps to contribute to this by gently reminding them every second of Tohru. No one is having a pleasant time with Tohru not around.
After school, Tohru goes back to grandpas and finds out her relatives have done some investigating into her private life. They found out how she was living with a house full of men and her cousin insinuates some not very proper ideas and much to every ones surprise, grandpa slaps him! In the hallway, Grandpa tells Tohru that if there is somewhere else she wants to be then she should go. Her parents were not the type to stay where they didn't want to be, and that it was fine for her to go her own way. As Tohru cries and admits that she really didn't want to leave Sohma house, Yuki pops around the corner and suavely says to come back then. Kyo is there to and he drags Tohru out the door as Yuki goes and gathers Tohru's things. The trio walks hand in hand back home, and all is back to normal at Sohma House.
