Summary: Yuki confronts Kyo and tells him that he can't behave like that at school and Kyo tries to fight Yuki but Tohru stops them and accidentally changes him into a cat. Kyo yells at her and upsets Tohru because she has always loved the year of the cat from the zodiac. Kyo leaves school early and goes back to Sohma house and has a talk with Shigure. Shigure, in all his wisdom, explains to Kyo that he shouldn't say things he is going to regret and that someday someone will truly want to be his friend. Being with people is a skill, and Kyo's isn't very developed yet.
Tohru is walking home from work at night when she hears someone behind her. She hits them in the face with her bag but it turns out to be Kyo who was trying to walk her home as an apology for earlier. Tohru realizes that Kyo is really a nice person deep down. The next day at school Uo, Hana, Kyo, and Tohru play a lively game of Dai Hin Min (Rich Man Poor Man) and loser has to clean the classroom. Well, Kyo loses. Meanwhile, Yuki has to reject yet another girl but this one tells him that even though he acts nice, he really is cold.
Yuki picks Tohru up from work and walks her home. Yuki talks about himself and how Kyo wants so badly to be a part of the family he has always tried to escape. It starts to rain and Tohru helps Yuki save his secret base, a vegetable garden. Tohru tells Yuki how her mother used to say that kindness must be developed over time. After Tohru's story, Yuki says that he would play Dai Hin Min with them next time and we get to see a genuine Yuki-kun smile! Tohru cooks some of the leeks from the secret base and we learn that Kyo hates leeks. Yuki plops them into Kyo's mouth and he promptly passes out. What will become of Kyo? Find out next time~
